The Medical Microbiology teaching process carried out during several decades is analyzed in a Microbiology faculty of a medical school that used semester system instead of the annual academic regime of studies. These paper emphasizes the need to accomplish the objective of the course as a primary responsibility of teachers and related academic staff in order to facilitate the global medical curriculum integration. Once the medical microbiology program is defined, its contents must be covered on time; it is also necessary to have access to human, physical and material resources considered essential to it. To do so, it is indispensable to have qualified personnel to cover adequately all levels of specific medical microbiology topics which form part of the medical pensum concern.
