Abstract

ALVAREZ, L; MENDOZA, M; MARQUEZ, L  and  ROJAS, E. Infection by helicobacter pylori in symptomatic children from "José Gregorio Hernández" hospital in the Trujillo city, Venezuela. Rev. Soc. Ven. Microbiol. [online]. 2003, vol.23, n.1, pp.7-8. ISSN 1315-2556.

    We study a sample of 54 symptomatic children from "José Gregorio Hernández" Hospital in Trujillo city, Venezuela, during January to July 2002, serological test was used to detect IgG anti-Helicobacter pylori. The results show that 15% active serologic correspond children of 8 to 11 years age (88% sample), the clinical sign present was epigastralgy urent kind, vomit, nausea or combination of sign.     In conclusion the significant antigenic valor detected in the symptomatic children the import of differential diagnosis before to treatment the patients, it with epidemiological and preventive objectives.
