CASTILLO COLOMBO, C; SOSA BRICENO  e  SCORZA, J. Thermal resistance evaluation in antifungal metabolites from sporulates of Bacillus genus.. Rev. Soc. Ven. Microbiol. [online]. 2004, vol.24, n.1-2, pp.65-67. ISSN 1315-2556.

Twelve (12) strains of Bacillus spp., active to inhibit the growth of fungal agents of dermatomycoses in humans, were assayed to determine the thermal resistance of antifungal metabolites. The strains were cultivates in potato infusion at pH 7,4 and, after 96 hours of growth in agitation, were sterilized at 120°C during 15 minutes. The cultures were assayed against dermatophytes (Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Microsporum canis) placed in Petri dishes with 10 ml of Sabouraud agar. The sterilized cultures were placed in cilynders on the solidified agar and revised until verifying the inhibitory activity of sporulates against the growth of dermatophytes. In 7 strains (58%) were verified the thermal resistance of the metabolites taken place by Bacillus sp. We stand out the importance of these discoveries using a simple applying methodology in any laboratory, and the use of easy media of cultivations that do not require reagents of difficult obtaining, which represents an investigation area to be explored.
