Abstract Animal biosecurity level 4 should be applied  to work with exotic agents of highly hazardous, able to produce serious and mortal infectious diseases  in the laboratory personnel,  with high risk of aerosol transmitted infections and unknown transmission. For all the activities at this level , combination of special practices, safety equipment, animal facilities and animal practices applicable to work  on animals infected with agents assigned to corresponding biosecurity level 4 are required.
