Resumen

PUTNAM, Hilary. Respuestas a "Needs, Values and Truth", de David Wiggins1 . Utopìa y Praxis Latinoamericana [online]. 2006, vol.11, n.32, pp.39-53. ISSN 1315-5216.

ABSTRACT      This article attempts to present certain critical opinions on the significance of linguistic and pragmatic truth in the Wiggins work entitled Needs, Values and Truths. The meaning of “truth” is explored in its grammatical and significance context. It is difficult to suppose an absolute truth concept, especially if we relate it to the ethical content of action. In referring to the ideas in Wiggens according to Williams, Davidson, Pierce, Wittgenstein and Habermas, the supposition that truth is associated with analogy, identity, and equivalence is not sufficient in order to obtain a degree of certitude in these concepts. It is necessary to question more deeply the intentionality and the relative-ness on which truth is founded.

Palabras clave : Wiggins; truth; value; criticism.
