Attention is brought upon certain realities of contemporarty developed capitalism, concerning the new modalities of linkage between scientific knowledge, technical developments, their technological insertion, and the military, political, managerial, economic and cultural sectors with the aim of obtaining its systemic objectives; characterizing the interpretation of those circumstances by today´s social thought and emphasizing the challenge for critical social thought to adequately understand those realities and their emancipation potencial for those that oppose capitalism. In that context of social change and transformation the role of an understanding of social contradictions and their treatment by the dialectical tradition is treated, in view of certain of its distortions that have occurred recently. Certain links of the approached circumstances with philosophical, political, cultural and ethical contemporary thought are mentioned.
