PIRELA MORILLO, Johann e MONTIEL SPLUGA, Leisie. Communicative-Cognitive Action and the Process of Constructing Mental Architecture in Cyber-Society . Utopìa y Praxis Latinoamericana [online]. 2007, vol.12, n.39, pp.73-84. ISSN 1315-5216.
This article is the product of a broader study dealing with an explanation of mediation processes in the organization of knowledge organizations, which, in the context of cyber-society are significantly transformed because new logic of interaction and knowledge production are introduced, mediated by information and communication technologies. Starting with a documentary investigation, conceptual statements by some authors of the cognitive sciences such as Habermas, Gardner, Fodor, y Mithen are analyzed, compared and integrated in order to generate categories that can explain the impact that cyber-society has on mediation processes in knowledge organizations. Such categories are communicative-cognitive action and mental architecture; the latter is a metaphor to be used as a heuristic resource for characterizing, from a cognitive perspective, the scope of action for so-called knowledge organizations, understood as libraries, archives, documentation and information centers, organizations that ought to work on the organization, representation and availability to users of the information and objective knowledge articulated in theories, information systems and other knowledge devices
Palavras-chave : Communicative-cognitive action; mental architecture; knowledge organizations.
