Resumen

MEDINA NUNEZ, Ignacio. Contradictions of the human being sociability and unsociability. Utopìa y Praxis Latinoamericana [online]. 2009, vol.14, n.46, pp.117-126. ISSN 1315-5216.

The human Being has developed his quality as “homo sapiens”: the apparition of conscience and reason. Nevertheless, using also an Edgar Morin idea, the human Being is also “homo demens”: he has a great capacity for his own destruction. Kant has articulated this double human dimension in two basic philosophical concepts about history: sociability and unsociability as inherent in the human being. When we want to search the perpetual peace in the societies of the planet, we never must forget the existence of both elements although we must make an option for the triumph of rationality.

Palabras clave : Rationality; utopia; sociability; peace.
