The following article explains the epistemological basis for a model oriented toward explaining and guiding the press’s reporting of conflicts. The theoretical contribution starts with discourse, from language and toward language. A study of the linguistic-communicative strategies that serve conflict resolution is recommended in order to use them consciously and systematically in dealing with conflict situations and contribute thereby to a culture of peace.
