Abstract

SUAREZ LITVIN, Roldan Tomasz. The Sense of the Educational Project of Interpretive Systemology (I). Frónesis [online]. 2008, vol.15, n.2, pp.46-68. ISSN 1315-6268.

This is the first article of a trilogy devoted to discussing the sense of the Educational Project of Interpretive Systemology. It begins by presenting the most visible every-day symptoms of the central problem to which the project responds, namely, the crisis of meaning affecting postmodern western culture. It is shown that the aforementioned crisis expresses itself in three areas of contemporary life: the relationship with oneself, the relationship with others and the relationship with the other. Individualism, liberalism and the instrumental conception of knowledge are identified as important influences in the crisis of meaning in question.

Keywords : Education; interpretive systemology; crisis of meaning; postmodernity.
