GOVEA CABRERA, Jorge. The Vision of Politics in Hannah Arendt. Frónesis [online]. 2010, vol.17, n.2, pp.217-240. ISSN 1315-6268.

The objective of this work is to review the concept of politics in the book What is Politics? by Hannah Arendt. This book presents a characterization of the aforementioned phenomenon, starting from seven presuppositions that would define it. The research is documentary, based on bibliographical investigation. In conclusion, the authors emphasize that for Arendt, politics necessarily requires and represents the validity, renovation and projection of polis as public space provided with freedom, equality, plurality, universality, nonviolence, action, communication and the interaction of human beings who are able to speak and act continuously and jointly.

Palavras-chave : Politics; polis; public space; plurality; action.
