SIMONE, Cristina. Cooperativism and the Creation of Employment in Argentina. Revista Venezolana de Economía y Ciencias Sociales [online]. 2005, vol.11, n.3, pp.179-185. ISSN 20030507.
This article examines the impact of neoliberal policies in Argentina during the nineties, from the point of view of a cooperative movement that had beforehand made important advances in the fields of agricultural production, public services, finance and credit, work, consumption, security, health and housing, etc. The author indicates how the weakening of domestic production and, above all, of the small and medium-size firms, inevitably had an adverse effect on the cooperative movement with which it was closely related. At the same time, she indicates how the abandonment of parity with the US dollar in 2002 opened out the prospect of a new accumulation model responding more closely to the needs of domestic producers, promising new opportunities for the cooperative movement and a disminution of the alarming unemployment rates.
