This article presents a balance about the emergence and development of the new political parties and political groups in the Mexican electoral system. It analyzes their electoral performance and importance for the Mexican system of parties. Likewise, it indicates how the legal existence of those political organizations runs parallel to the low exit costs of the Mexican electoral system, as well as the increase of the prerogatives to which the have a right. Finally, it emphasizes certain anomalies in the way these organizations use the public resources that the electoral authority grants them and explains some of the normative actions designed to correct these anomalies.
