Resumen
AMODIO¹, manuele. If Nature Stands in the Way An Anthropological and Political Look at Gender and Sexual Difference. Revista Venezolana de Economía y Ciencias Sociales [online]. 2006, vol.12, n.3, pp.125-134. ISSN 20030507.
From two different perspectives, the anthropological and the political, some deductions are made about the formation of gender differences and its relationship to sexual difference. The author proposes a historical relation between the maternal role of women in different societies and the way in which this has been used as a justification for the priority of men. On this basis, non-normalized identities are considered an irreducible residue that questions the natural distinction between the genders. In the second part of the article, the author offers some political considerations about the GLBT (Gay, Lesbians, Bisexuals and Transexuales) movements and the attempt to reduce the inconformity with the canonical order of Western bodies and social practice
