AGAFONOW CORDERO, lejandro. The Market and Collective Welfare in Hayeks Fatal Arrogance. Revista Venezolana de Economía y Ciencias Sociales [online]. 2007, vol.13, n.1, pp.63-84. ISSN 20030507.
In this article, the author offers an analysis, from the perspective of egalitarian political economy, of The Fatal Conceit. The Errors of Socialism, the last published work of Friedrich Hayek before his death on March 23, 1992. The scope of the Austrian Marginalist School, to which this political economist belongs, is examined, in order to comment on its logical strength, if compared to that of the Paretian Marginalist School. On this basis, the author examines Hayeks treatment of the idea of collective welfare and the role that the market plays in producing the greatest possible grade of liberty for all. The critique focuses on the limits of the market as a guarantee for an equal access to liberties for everyone.
