This investigation is a micro-social study from a gender perspective. It tries to understand the diverse strategies and special efforts that some poor women use in order to integrate themselves into the public world, combining it with their different every-day roles. The article aims at exploring, analyzing and explaining, through in-depth interviews and participant observation, the way of life of 20 female workers belonging to the "Venezuela Advances" Cooperative at the Fabricio Ojeda Endogenous Development Nucleus in Catia.
