This article analyzes the problem of governance and the relations between the State, the market and society under the impact of globalization. It is argued that, despite the neoliberal tendency to limit and restrict the functions of the State, this continues to play a crucial role in regulating economic activity and it is of crucial importance to achieve an adequate equilibrium between the market, the private sector and the State
