Abstract Alternative conflict resolution methods have constituted a constant problem for legal professionals as methods to speed up judicial trial schedules. This paper describes how conciliation functions within the framework of the individual right to work, and how this institution functions in three argentine provinces (Buenos Aires, Córdoba y La Rioja) under different models, and what differences and coincidences can be observed in relation to alternative conflict resolution  methods and especially mediation.
