This study formulates a proposal for reforming Venezuelan labor legislation in terms of salary, workday and seniority benefits. The research is documentary and propositive, based on the analytical method. It approaches definitions and characteristics of the aforementioned aspects and proposes changes consonant with the current situation in the country. Conclusions are that in Venezuela, labor reform is taken for granted as one more step in transition to the socialist model, drawing further away from the more or less generalized reality of comparative law. Furthermore, it bears witness to a legislative delay of nearly nine years, which seems too long a time for vindicating workers’ rights.
