Resumen
QUERO DE TRINCA, Mirela. Rómulo Betancourt: una vida de exilios. Tiempo y Espacio [online]. 2008, vol.18, n.49, pp.75-88. ISSN 1315-9496.
The following essay highlights a remarkable aspect of the life of Venezuelan leader Romulo Betancourt, who experienced periods of sustained exile. The author emphasizes Betancourt's clear-eyed acceptance of expatriation, which both he and his family understood as necessary to the success of his prolific political life. As his constant companion, exile never symbolized defeat in Betancourt's view, but was instead simply a pause in his ongoing struggle--and one which he used strategically to shape and develop his political thought and work.
