The Emancipation marks the birth of the Venezuelan, in strict sense historiography, so much in the construction of a speech corresponded with a strong epic, narrative load and of feeling anti - Spanish to establish the national identity, to break abrupt with the colonial past of three hundred years and to justify the political practice of the military commanders of the nineteenth-century Venezuela. In turn, it was the muse that I inspire intellectual many (many people) that fungieron of historians lengthways throughout the XIXth and XXth century. In this respect, the military and intellectual Jose of Austria (1791 - 1863) contributes(pays) to this historiography with his Sketch of the Military History of Venezuela (1855) to give a great significance(meaning) to the worship to the hero (Simon Bolívar), and of creating a utilitarian history on the national conscience to the future generations of military men and citizens.
