This article deals with the period of three years in the Venezuelan regions, best known by the Venezuelan historiography as the Democratic Action's triennial period. This analysis specifically focuses on the case of the State of Merida, which was characterized by struggles. These struggles had an aim: the control of the power of political organizations. This period of time was also distinguished by the intervention of the Catholic Church.
