The involvement of Indians in the independence of Venezuela is a topic little studied in the national historiography. The majority of investigations have been oriented to highlight the performance of white Creoles or mantuanos as a group that controls and directs the process. What is study of all actors involved in the independence movement from their differences, motivations, attitudes, confrontations and conflicts in different regions of the country, allowing a vision, more comprehensive and complete the process. This paper presents the results of an investigation concerning the attitude of loyalty to the King assumed by the choir caquetíos Indians during independence. In choir they were realistic, all shared a more or less common favourable attitude towards the monarchy and opposed independence. But this widespread loyalty, manifests itself differently between the elite or mantuanos Creoles and Indians caquetíos were the groups most enthusiastic in the defence of the King and of the Spanish Crown. It is to answer the following questions: is it because the caquetíos were so loyal to the King? What are the reasons that led to this realistic attitude? How can we explain the caquetíos loyalty?.
