The recreation of the historiografic discourse appears like a mark of a significant numbers of country’s novels. Many of them mention in a direct or indirect form the independentist exploit that it has conditioned the national imaginary with its imprint. Now, perspectives change since the fictional exercise becomes retrospective or prospective writing and even combination of time that point at assessing the causes and consequences of this national landmark. In this sense, we’ll explore the rewriting of the foundational myth and the persistence of the cult and the questioning of the hero, appearing as constants in the revised corpus which includes works by Francisco Herrera Luque and Denzil Romero and others. As a theoretical-critical ground were used Quesada Monge (1999), Straka (2009) and Torres (2009). The findings show the construction of individual and collective subjectivities in evident conflict with the nostalgic desire for account from the letter, of the inconsistencies of social development, that is, the representation that swings between yearning for the heroic gesture and the impossibility of implementation in contexts that wallow in the questions, set out the doubts and uncertainties, analyze errors, in short, they recreate over and over the past suffering under the weight of present.
