The object of this study in the ambit of historical geography, is to examine the mineral extractive activities of the Yuruary Territory (1880-1890), during the development of capitalistic production relations that generated changes in the landscape and antagonisms such as workers demand disputes. That was part of the policy of Guzmán Blanco and foreign capitalists who invested in this zone. The territory existed between 1818 and 1889; it was then reincorporated into Bolívar State. The forms of property were concessions. The exploitation was characterized as open sky. Modern machinery was used for the production of gold bars.
