The beginning of the XIX century, the system of military education wa component key to raise the moral level and of professionalization of the army, taking in consideration that in the independent Mexico the army was coming from a series of problematic that were making his integration diffi cult, homogenization and modernization. Nevertheless, diverse difficult as the political instability, the lack of resources, of support of the local governments and of the population, as well as the desertion and disinterest of the own military men made difficult the literacy of the soldier and his professionalization. This objective of this article is to know present the projects of creation of an educational system that was allowing alphabetizing and to instruct the soldiers of the Mexican army, realized and put in going for the military elite during the centralist government, at the same time, to show the different reactions of the local governments and the population before the law implemented for the education of the troop and some of the events that led to the failure of the educational project.
