This paper has two components. In the first, some theoretical and methodological considerations about the management and development of the coups d’état and the role played by the Navy in these processes are presented. In the second, main coups d’état staged by the Navy against the first government of the Venezuelan liberal-representative democratic era are studied from the perspective of historical analysis.
