Military thought and models of military education in France and Spain were intrinsically underpinned in Venezuela at the beginning of the nineteenth century, however, the consolidation of the Ejército Libertador was related to the implementation of several systems of training officers, being the majority of military training in combat units. Parallel to the military education put into practice, a series of military academy projects were developed for the nascent republic between 1820 and 1830.
