This article reviews the political performance of Diego Bautista Urbaneja Alayón, from 1873 to 1888, as a lawyer and liberal leader at the service of the project promoted by Antonio Guzmán Blanco. The public performance of Diego Bautista Urbaneja during the Guzmanato, included in this the presidential interim of General Hermógenes López to culminate the Biennium initiated by Guzman Blanco in September 1886, is examined, based on its concrete execution and based on documentary sources , hemerográficas and testimonials, as a reflection of the relationship of a group of lawyers with power, who served the maximum leader justifying the order established after the revolution of 1870, but also by carrying out ministerial functions within the governmental structure, Diplomatic and legislative; Being Urbaneja one of the most representative of the pleiade to appear among the ministers with greater influence during the Guzmancist hegemony, only subordinated, in fact, to the general Guzmán Blanco.
