Abstract

MENDOZA DE FERRER, Ermelinda. Conceptual Scheme for Development of Operational Leaders. Revista de Ciencias Sociales [online]. 2007, vol.13, n.1, pp.47-58. ISSN 1315-9518.

Nowadays, organizations live in a world of fast and continuous change. Due to this situation, it is necessary to design systems of support to contribute to the improvement of their capacity to respond to the demands of the environment, since this has been one of the strategies in the development of the human capital. The general objective of this article is to present a conceptual scheme for the development of operational leaders in accordance with the results obtained in the evaluation of a program of development applied to a Venezuelan Corporation in order to improve its competitiveness. A trans-sectional descriptive design was employed. The universe was a group of 303 subjects that had participated in the program to be evaluated. The size of the sample was 82 participants in order to achieves a precision value equal to 0,1. A structured interview technique was used, and validated by experts. As a result, it was found that the existence of organizational behavioral models limited the development of the desired professional profiles. It is recommended that a conceptual scheme for the formation of operational leaders be designed, based on a social-structural system and justified by the cultural system of the organization.
