This investigation analyzes inventory management as an element of competitiveness in companies of the metallurgy industry in the Western Region of Venezuela. The methodology is of a descriptive type, non-experimental, trans-sectional. The population consists of twenty (20) companies of the metallurgy industry devoted to producing machine tools, specifically winches and milling machines, registered in the Western Region of Venezuela, selecting the entire population for the study. Results demonstrate that inventory management in the metallurgical industry of the Western Region of Venezuela does not constitute a factor of competitiveness in the companies within the industry.
