PERDOMO, Jhoner  e  JOHANN, Valera. Analysis of trends among young researchers in Venezuela. Revista de Ciencias Sociales [online]. 2010, vol.16, n.2, pp.239-249. ISSN 1315-9518.

Venezuela is currently experiencing a decrease in young researchers and the aging of its existing population. This study will begin with the conceptual definition of young researcher to then analyze trends and propose the construction of a statistical model that explains the behavior of young researchers in Venezuela, making it possible to estimate and project variations on a yearly basis using data focused on the ages of the population of researchers and the young researchers. Likewise, indicators have been constructed that will permit specific observation of the problem under study. Next, based on a hypothetical supposition and applying a prospective viewpoint, we will see that developing a policy for young researchers with emphasis on undergraduates will produce an annual increase of qualified researchers, reduce the average age, increase the relation with the economically active population and of course, increase the number of young researchers.

Palavras-chave : Young researchers; undergraduate; trend analysis; time series.
