During educational practice, the term efficiency plays an important role in achieving educational quality, because it is related to the action of performing tasks correctly, and becomes the axis on which achieving objectives will depend. Thus, the main purpose of this research is to describe, analyze and interpret facts and events in situ to obtain an understanding of an efficient teacher profile, seeking, furthermore, a reflexive process which contributes to self-evaluation, identifying the elements of efficient educational practice. An ethnographic design was used with qualitative and quantitative techniques for collecting and analyzing data, thereby permitting the reliability and validity of the results and their contrast. The results show efficiency centered on resource maximization and development of student potentialities. Moreover, new categories emerged that contribute to visualizing teaching efficiency from the perspective of a group of actors within an institutional framework.
