Abstract The main goal of this investigation was to determine the perception that service users have regarding the performance of information professionals in the Sector Information Units at the University of Zulia. The information units are coordinated by the file system at LUZ (SAILUZ), which provides information and knowledge services to users of the intra and extra university community. These information units facilitate the unification of systems and processes related to information and documentation that must be given to users by information specialists. This study proposed getting to know the expectations and perceptions users have regarding the quality of the service, waiting time, response capacity and attention offered in the above-mentioned units. The research was of a descriptive, field type, non-experimental, based on a selected population sample of (397 users) on whom a data-collecting instrument was applied in the form of a questionnaire. According to the results obtained, it was determined that an objective correspondence of high significance prevails between the users and the persons in charge of the information regarding the service rendered
