PEREZ CAMACHO, Magali. Business Cooperation in Rural Communities: A Mechanism of Endogenous Development?. Revista Venezolana de Gerencia [online]. 2008, vol.13, n.41, pp.9-29. ISSN 1315-9984.
The goal of this article is to explain that the behavior of business cooperation in rural communities allows it to become a mechanism for endogenous development and its forces, as well as explaining that a direct relationship exists between local interaction and the business cooperation dynamic in endogenous development. This analysis derived from case studies and a review of theoretical works related to business cooperation and endogenous development. The three case studies were found in the Mexican farming sector: two integrating companies and one association of organic coffee producers. The study of business cooperation as a mechanism for endogenous development is important because, depending on local interaction and the establishment of business cooperation, the latter can be channeled as strategy for the development of these communities.
Palabras clave : Business cooperation; endogenous development; local interaction.
