RAMIREZ CEDILLO, Eduardo. Macroeconomic Stability and Micro, Small  and Medium Enterprises in Mexico. Revista Venezolana de Gerencia [online]. 2010, vol.15, n.52, pp.531-547. ISSN 1315-9984.

In recent years, attempts have been made to explain the success or failure of economic units called MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) from a micro-administrative perspective, alleging that factors such as the lack of planning, the lack of process organization, deficient financial management, little attention to inventories and the non-existence of control mechanisms are elements that affect obtaining lower earnings and yield in the aforesaid productive units, causing them to leave the market. Although this study does not discard those elements, it assumes that macroeconomic factors are fundamentals for explaining the high incidence of business mortality and the low generation of earnings. The study considers that current economic policies (fiscal and monetary) geared to maintaining stability only configure an unstable context for the correct development of micro and SMEs. Therefore, it proposes that, in addition to micro-administrative improvements, a change in the macroeconomic environment of the country is necessary.

Palavras-chave : Micro; small and medium enterprises (MSMEs); fiscal policy; monetary policy; monetary stability.
