This essay is a summary of an analysis of the novel "País Portátil" by Adriano González León from a sociological perspective. The analysis forms part of a thesis entitled: "Antecedentes de la Vanguardia Artística e ideológica de los años 60". This literary work is representative of Venezuelan literature of the sixties. It synthesizes theme and style and incorporates into the literary discourse a new way of decoding the narrative text to give it an expresion that goes beyond the formal aspects, linking its virtual meaning to the historical past. Similarly, the novel presents two stories that together show typical venezuelan characteristics. The novel was written at a time in wich different literary ideas were being eveloped and incorporate into the text in the Latin American novel, the majority of these techniques are of European influence. It also reflects a period of crisis, which was expressed through protest, which is described in the novel as dislocation and fragmentation repeatedly showing social conflict.
