RODRIGUEZ BELLO, Luisa. ALICE ’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND : FROM THE METHAPHISICS AND LOGIC TO THE ESTHETIC. Investigación y Postgrado [online]. 2003, vol.18, n.1, pp.86-98. ISSN 1316-0087.

The main purpose of this article is to analyze some logical and metaphysical principles in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland It is based on a premise by J.L. Borges that states that Alice´s books create "a plot of paradoxes of logical and metaphysical order". Here this premise is inverted in its content with the purpose of demonstrating that the adventures conform, rather, a narrative plot of aesthetic paradoxes that makes use of the logic and metaphysics as the instruments for the creation of the events, characters and sequences that give coherence to the world fiction that is presented. In order to fulfill that purpose, a rethorical analysis of the proemium of the work and some of their episodes is made, which are interpreted from both a pragmatic and a semantic point of view. We can conclude that this work of Lewis Carroll displays an imaginey that forces the reader to figuration, because personages and situations without literary precedents are created, which, along with the paradoxes, are the appropriate instances to communicate the inferior, superior and inner world secrets. Carroll restores a new way to say and to do in Literature and the art.
