Abstract

CUELLO LEMUZ, Pablo Emilio. INDUSTRIAL AND PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND JOB MARKET DEMANDS. Investigación y Postgrado [online]. 2006, vol.21, n.1, pp.11-48. ISSN 1316-0087.

The present field research is an exploratory and phenomenological study framed within a naturalist paradigm. It had as its main purposes to describe, comprehend and explain gaps occurring between industrial and professional technical education and job market demands. The phenomenological design followed three stages: a) pre-active, b) interactive, and c) post-active. In the latest, a final ethnographic report was produced introducing new categories to examine the difficulties linking the technical education sector and the production sector. The results were combined with proposals coming from social actors involved in the study and articulated using the existing theory. Finally, a theoretical-methodological system was presented recommending directives to close the rift between the two sectors.

Keywords : industrial and professional technical education; education industry; phenomenology.
