Framed by the postmodern critical theory, as a perspective linked to educational problems, the article examines the integration of the pedagogical discourse, as a nuclear variable, to the pedagogical university, a forming and transforming institution of the critical subject from a questionable postmodern “critique”. Using an archival and descriptive approach, the formation of the thinking-critical subject is discussed as an important aspect in epistemological, ontological and ethical debates. From this point of view there rises the need to train teachers as subjects able to respond to History from an alternative paradigm to that of post modernity-capitalization. Such teacher will not drift from an academic culture preoccupied with transformative spaces. The conclusion points to a role of the pedagogical university in which it must promote a revision of the historical subject’s education in order to build a critical pedagogue able to reflect upon his/her cultural ethos as the means for incorporating the regional to the universality of the historical teacher.
