Abstract

The necessities of the current society of knowledge and information have remarkably challenged the mainstream conception of thinking that affirms that there is an age to learn and another one, in which knowledge is applied. The term andragogy is widely accepted in the field of education for adults. As a formal concept, it includes different ideas for a theory of learning just for adults. The Experimental University Simón Rodríguez (UNESR) is the pioneer institution in the application of the andragogic discipline; its interest lies on the necessity of concentrating in the adult learning process. Through this research conducted, the intention was to know the quality of the performance of the facilitator of UNESR, regarding the andragogic postulates assumed by the institution. The population was comprised by facilitators from Núcleo Palo Verde, and from this population an intentional sample was taken. The results showed the following tendencies: a) facilitators have not internalized the andragogic postulates assumed by the institution (UNESR), so that these postulates can actually be applied to the education for adults.
