TAYLHARDAT, Leonardo y PACHECO-TROCONIS, Germán. Evolution and analysis of syllabi since the beginning and establishment of rural teacher training school in Venezuela : (the 1938-1948 period). Investigación y Postgrado [online]. 2007, vol.22, n.2, pp.295-335. ISSN 2244-7474.
As a result of the creation and development of the Rural Teacher Training School in Venezuela in 1938, diverse circumstances and elements emerged. In this research, the historic and pedagogical frame of such circumstances and elements is recovered. Also, the socioeconomic and political conditions during dictators Juan Vicente Gómezs, as well as Eleazar López Contrerass, regime are studied. Syllabi applied during that period are reported and analyzed in the light of their historic and pedagogical context. The curriculum designs were analyzed with special attention to those subjects aimed at searching for integral education of the rural teacher. Four aspects were combined: basic education, pedagogical formation, agriculture and livestock education, and formation for community work. From the historical analysis it can be concluded that teacher training schools had to overcome multiple obstacles. The policy of expansion of this kind of studies could not be consolidated and only the Teacher Training School at El Mácaro functioned uninterruptedly during all those years.
