Resumen
CEGARRA, José. Webquest: learning constructivist strategy based on internet. Investigación y Postgrado [online]. 2008, vol.23, n.1, pp.73-91. ISSN 1316-0087.
Presently the Information and Communication Technologies are no longer new, however it is clearly evident that teachers continue to reproduce traditional pedagogic models but under new digital formats. The use of internet, the electronic slides or any other computer-related educational material is nothing more than snobbism and, in many cases, when it is used as an instructional resources it lacks the appropriate learning strategies for the student. In other words, the slides are used so that the lecturer-student can read his digitalized ideas and the spectator-student can passively take notes or internet is used as a source of information but only to be to copy and paste the information. This is the general overview of the implementation of the ICTs in the majority of the Venezuelan educational institutions. Consequently, the objective of the paper is the theoretical and methodological review of the Webquest as a learning constructivist strategy based on the internet. This paper will offer a brief analysis of the ICTs in the schools -from a generic point of view- as well as a critical view of the use of this technology in order to place this issue in the appropriate framework.
