All organizations are the sum of its members, if they thrive for excellence then they must house people who abide by and implement their policies and principles. In a university, the appropriate training of the academic staff is the guarantee of quality, since it is them who give knowledge. Training however should not be limited to a specific area of knowledge but to the full mastering of the university structure as well as to the consolidation of the basic roles of the teachers (teaching, research, extension and management). The objective of this paper is to show the impact the Instructor Teachers’ Training Programme has on the staff admitted on a trial capacity to the Instituto Pedagógico de Miranda José Manuel Siso Martínez . The basis of the Programme is the need for the professional and integral development of the instructor teacher.  It aims at offering the necessary training in pedagogic and social areas, as well as in the functioning and the structure of the Institute and in areas of the immediate context, the university. This constitutes a support reference for the professional development of the academic staff which  will contribute to the enhancement of the teacher’s quality.
