In today’s social dynamics education and work make up an interesting combination. These two aspects are the starting point for this research. Both areas are closely linked and the basic objective of this study was structured on this relationship which is: to create a theoretical construction in education for work based on the permanent education approach. The goal is to integrate and articulate the different stages and structures of the educational process along the vertical (temporary) and horizontal (spatial) dimensions. The research falls into the qualitative paradigm framework, under the  phenomenologic approach, where individuality and subjectivity are emphasized.  The field and the theoretical work were carried out at the elementary level, given that this is the educational basis for any ulterior training process. Among other aspects the results show: a poor relationship between the classroom and the productive sector and the lack of articulation between academic training and the demands of the productive society. Based on these results a proposal focused on permanent education is presented, given that this area of education implies a synergy between the theoretical and the practical knowledge, between being and living together, that is to say, it is an education with no time nor spatial limits, turning it into a dimension of life itself.
