The purpose of this research was to generate several interpretations on the meaning that the teachers at the National Educational Unit Emperatriz Agüero (Jiménez district, Lara state) assign to mediation and support in individual and organizational learning. The research was based on the Socio-cultural Cognitive Theory of Vigotsky (1997) and in the Change Theory of Argyris & Schön (1978). This qualitative field study had interpretative character and was based on the phenomenological method. It had six phases: i) description of the phenomenon, ii) search for multiple perspectives of the phenomenon, iii) identifying the structures, iv) construction of meanings, v) suspension of judgments, and vi) extraction of meanings. The conclusion reached shows that mediation is understood as a process linked to the capturing needs of the institutions personnel and that two types of mediation take place: professional and interpersonal. In the support exercise the teacher accepts other teachers intervention in the classroom to encourage change. Both processes, mediations and support, help individual and organizational learning.
