This paper is a documental revision focus on how users interpret the General Model for Technological Development proposed by Szczurek (1988). First, this research offers data that clarifies the origins of the model; second, it discusses important aspects of its methodology; thirdly, it analyses the graphic representation of the model; and, finally, it presents a proposal in regards to it. Familiarity with this model is considered important to increase its application effectiveness and, therefore, get accurate results in its development.
