Resumo

The goal of this research is to point out the prevailing concepts on issues such as: diversity, the point of view of others, active tolerance and solidarity at the Universidad Pedagógica Experiemental Libertador (UPEL), all of which strengthen the culture of peace. The methodology used was that followed by Argyris (2001) according to which the modification of the status quo requires the existence of representative models to promote a dialectical process between explicit theory and the theory being used for the constructo of a culture of peace. The research was carried out at the UPEL, the sample population were its workers and a selection of key informants chosen according to Glasser and Strauss’ (1967) strategy of theoretical sampling, using in depth interviews. By means of the phases of the Continuous Comparative Method categories and subcategories of the constructo of a culture of peace were drafted. The results indicate that faced with the need for alternatives to solve the conflicts that arise in organizations it is necessary to propose a didactical method that could be applied and improved while being used.
