The goal of this research is to foster a theoretic- methodologic model for the incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), to the distance higher education teacher training process at the Instituto de Mejoramiento Profesional del Magisterio (IMPM), which is part of the UPEL. The techniques used were: partipating observation, autobiography, in depth interviews, and group discussion. The research was carried out by the triangulation of the case study methods: research-action and etnographic. Hermeneutic techniques were used to analyse the information. The study was carried out in the following phases: diagnosis, formulation, proposal execution and evaluation and model construction. The results evidence the social and academic pertinence of taking on a training, interactive and collaborational action to strenghten the appropriate inclusion of ICT in the distance teacher training.
