VALENZUELA BRICENO, Tania y VILORIA CEDENO, Ninoska E. Methodological Strategies for the teaching of Local Cultural Heritage in the area of Work education. Case study: Educational Unit "Juan Bautista Dalla Costa" of the Boconó Municipality of the Trujillo State. Investigación y Postgrado [online]. 2008, vol.23, n.3, pp.251-280. ISSN 1316-0087.
The main goal of this research is to propose methodological strategies for the teaching of local cultural heritage in the area of work education, case study: Educational Unit "Juan Bautista Dalla Costa" of the Trujillo State. Epistemologically the research is located in the humanist paradigm and methodologically it is qualitative, in the context of school etnography, as part of the progressive approach. The population sample is intentional and is made up by nine (9) key informants selected from directors, teachers, students and community members. To give a wider support to this research quantitative data was also gathered. It was obtained by means of field notes, semi-structured interviews and by participant observation; the validation was carried out by the triangulation method. The analysis of the results showed that knowledge on cultural heritage among teachers and students is very superficial and that there is no effective methodology for the teaching of cultural values in this field, thus a plan to eliminate these defficiencies and integrate innovative strategies was designed.
